GSG5 moderation
Has anyone moderated a standard GSG5 by getting the barrel chopped, threaded, and a moderator permanently attached to keep the overall length within S1 but as short as possible?
If so - what moderator did you use and were there any problem with doing it or with the FEO?
Any answers much appreciated!

Yep, Swift Precision Rifles. I didn't have mine done, but have seen a couple. SAK seemed the mod of choice. Looked fine, but didn't see/hear them fired.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Foregive me for being stupid, but if a moderator is permanently attached to the rifle in order for the gun to comply with the 12/24 regs, how do you clean it? (The moderator that is, not the barrel)

Re: GSG5 moderation
Re Cleaning - jazzyj - maybe I'm now laying myself open to some air sucking through teeth noises but I just squirt alot of Action Blaster down the moderator and alot of black stuff comes out.....can still do this when attached to barrel.
Re: GSG5 moderation
ooh blimey, think the only smiley that matches my mug right now is this guy;
wtfwtf
with the amount of crug a moderator must capture, a proper strip n clean out would be the best way to do it.
surely there's a moderator available that has the front unscrew to allow the baffles to be taken out without the need to take the moderator off the barrel?
i thought moderators can cause groupings to grow too....

Re: GSG5 moderation
jazzyj SAK moderators are ideal for this. The monocore stays attached to the barrel and the outer sleeve slides off.
