The NRA archer
What is the symbolism behind the archer on the NRA's badge / logo ? As an archer ourself (proper full compass yew stick, none of that compound carbon rubbish) we 're curious...

Re: The NRA archer
The NRA has its roots and evolved from the volunteer rifle movement. Their ancestors would obviously have been the bowmen of old hence the incorporation of bowmen in the badge.
I would have said English longbow archers but that would give the wrong impression because many were actually Welsh mercenary archers from Gwent and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Rovers, butts or the popinjay for starters?
Might the Kings Pardon be needed, just in case?
Would this be proper preparation in case of "posse comitatus" being revived, then?
