Calling G22 Owners
Need a little help from any G22 owners out there - don't be shy or embarrassed about it! . I recently reacquired my old G22 and I'm looking for details regarding a part. Its part number 100 (clamping plate) on the schematics.
This is supposed to cure the wandering POI that apparently occurs once it's been stripped for cleaning and reassembled. I've never had this problem with the G22 but my mate did which is why I have it back (and that he got seduced by Saddler's V-22! ), so I thought it best to try and get hold of this part just in case.
I've e-mailed Walther and still waiting for them to get back to me, but I'm not going to hold my breath as there is no sign of the G22 on Walther's website.
So, if any you fellow G22 owners could photograph the clamping plate and provide dimensions, it would be much appreciated as I may have to get one made up, if Walther doesn't get back to me.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that, but if it isn't easy to get out, just leave it. No sense in making life difficult for yourself.

Says the man who actually got BACK a G22 he previously owned!!!
Oh, your Southern Hemisphere sense of humour....!
(See, I keep telling you that you're more British than you can to admit. You've certainly cracked "irony".... )
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Anyway, it cost me nothing and I helped him spend his money on Saddlers V-22.
Edit: What about your GSG-5? Some would say we're as mad as each other, for owning these rifles!

In all seriousness, I never had a problem with mine. Easily did 12K rounds. Sold to a bloke in the club who has done a couple of thousand all ready and loves it!
That said, I'm looking for my next project as the Mini 14 has gone as well. So these G22's, do they provide enough frustration to become all consuming...?

Shooting them is fine - but then comes the cleaning....Sim G wrote:Sandgroper wrote: That said, I'm looking for my next project as the Mini 14 has gone as well. So these G22's, do they provide enough frustration to become all consuming...?
Walther managed to find the two smallest springs in existence, then fitted them in such a way that they will ping off if you ever strip your gun for cleaning. A quick-release 4x scope helps to find them again...
I now place the action in a clear ziplock bag as I separate the pieces to catch the bits. Literally. tongueout
Other than that, it shoots a 15-20mm group at 50yds from a rest - compared to some semi's I've shot that's pretty good.
I quite like the G22. I bought it because it's different and it's not a replica of anything else.
Re: Calling G22 Owners
It should have a 7 digit number on the exploded diagram - let me know what it is and I'll see if I can find you one as my office is a stockroom of Walther bits!

OK just checked and we don't have any in stock - if you call the NSRA shop 01483 485511 we can order it for you if Walther still have them but it may take some time to arrive.
Tell them its part no 2704811
Should only cost a couple of quid plus postage
