22 steel targets

#1 Post by UKYankee »

Does anyone know of a place to buy dueling trees and other styles of 22 steel targets? I found a couple of places like Solus but they don't stock them anymore and Midway UK are charging quite a bit.

If you can contact Mick Flatley that shoots/runs practical comps at Rossendale Fusiliers club near Manchester he makes them

Are they? When did they start doing this then???

A few chaps on stalkingdirectory and pigeonwatch offer steel targets - from gongs to rabbits - most seem to be rated for centrefire too, not just rimfire.
Google will turn up a few options too

What's the deal with using steel targets on "approved ranges" are there any restrictions?

We have steel animal silhouette targets at my club for 22 shooting.
Range was inspected recently and they are fine to shoot.
No closer than 40 metres, which is actually the chicken ditance.
They are stood in wooden "boxes" to stop ricochets.
One of the members got them directly from the US.

Not allowed on Military Ranges unless specified in Range Orders. Private club ranges can do what they like as long as they have suitable insurance.

Thanks for that, hitting a bit of a brick wall with google searching the club though. I can find references to it but no web address and no email address. Don't suppose you have any contact info for him?

Uttings I think.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
