Did a little test tonight seeing as I hadn't tried both mods one After the other on the .22lr... Probably not particularly accurate or scientific ...I downloaded a db meter to my boing .. My falcon pcp air rifle makes 96db with no silencer .. 86db with the parker hale and 84db with the sak... Perhaps I was wrong .. Will try the same test with the rimmy at the range tomorrow night ...

Could just be that the sounds are different, so the sak may snap a bit more?

I don't read my own signature!

It's been said before that I'm no fan of sak moderators, they however do have their fan base, the usual fan is the person to tight or stuck in a rut to get a better moderator.....i use Winchester subs through my a - tec and I find that ok.......iits all much of a muchness really, a guy at our club has one of armalons fully built in .22 rifle with integral silencer kinda like a de lisle, all u can hear when shooting it is the tiny little click of the firing pin then the noise coming back at you of the sand being hit.....so any moderator u buy wont achieve that standard so just get the next best thing......get what you think is the most u can live with.....all the bunnies scatter when the crack of their mates skull is heard anyhow, so it's not really a big thing, the moderator just keeps it down enough not to scare the next rabbit group off thats awaiting you around the next hedge.......

I've had a Parker-Hale moderator on my Finnfire for years and it is as quiet as anyone else's rimfires, even those with very expensive mod's on.
The only reason I fitted a SAK on my 17Hmr was because the shop didn't have a PH in stock and did me a deal on the SAK.
