BR99 - What sights?

#1 Post by Dangermouse »

A few of us here have a BR99 and I am sure none of us are using the factory plastic sights. Just wondering what others are using.
I initially put on a set of knock off magpul flip ups which worked great until the
rear sight broke. The system was so well suited that I was still able to carry on with just the front post with no loss of accuracy.

Vortex strikefire...will be interesting to see how it holds up to the recoil!

I managed to rattle my one loose at Shield but other than that it's held up well.

I intially put PTS Magul MBUS on mine too, and the back sight broke! (mine sheered through the bolt side of the picatinnty cut - same?) And just like you i just left the front sight on and it worked as a back up just fine (had to use it in anger twice)

Then put a Sightmark Ultrafire QD on it and have been using that for the last few months and its worked fine (once i'd tightned up the QD lever  ).

Just replaced that with an Eotech last week and some proper Magpul MBUS sights. Going to be using it/them for the first time properly on Saturday bangbang

EDIT: The Sightmark is a brilliant sight and i'd have happily left that on there but i got a deal on the Eotech that i couldn't ignore

I have just built a simple ghost ring rear sight with protective ears for a Picatinny rail on a gallery rifle and given the total lack of fragile parts I reckon it will work on the BR99 quite nicely as well with a possible change of aperture.

That would be interesting to see, no pun intended!
