Should be a warning mounted on all bunks - 'Before sleep, stick yours arse against the bulkhead and breath in through your nose.'
Re: Swedish Marines
I am pleased to report that some of the funniest blokes I ever went on exercise with were the Dutch Booties.
We were in a NAAFI (Yank equivalent thereof) in a place called Wildflecken (somewhere in southern naziville, a bloody great range).
Anyhoo....It appears the locals liked line dancing and being poker faced, the women were impenetrable (probably quite literally, iron underpants etc etc). So said Dutch Royals decided to liven up proceedings by building a human pyramid in the middle of the dance floor...there were quite a few of them, p***, and it collapsed (if it took any recognisable geometric form to start with).
The home crowd were hilarious, they stayed pokerfaced and carried on line dancing....interspersed with drunken marines in various states of inebriation, attempting to line dance
Surreal
