A different mentality is what is beyond the treeline; thats his private property and no one has a right to be there. Unless they get hit by the first bullet its their own daft fault for not giving it big legs off his land once they hear shooting. If you trespass on someones land in the US then its likely you're stupid enough that its a good thing your genes be removed from the collective pool. This is a difficult concept for lots of people to understand in this country, as is the enormity of America and the amount of land a seemingly normal individual can own.DW58 wrote:I saw photos on FaceySpaceyBook last week of a guy chronographing rifle loads from his front porch with bullets going into an adjacent wood, he clearly could have no idea of what might be beyond the treeline.
These guys are a bit different though, there's open land between them and other buildings which while not within the 'effective' range of the gun being used, would appear to be within the total range of the cartridge if one of them fired the gun at an upward angle. But then thats probably why they're standing on top of a mound firing down toward the backstop/pond. If they own the land behind the back stop then the above appliesDW58 wrote:Typical US-origin gun video, totally irresponsible with no safe backstop. It always amazes how they just don't care about what just might be out there beyond where they are shooting.
That's all well and good IF they own the land, but there is no implication that they do own it, whereas you are making the assumption that they do.Blackstuff wrote:A different mentality is what is beyond the treeline; thats his private property and no one has a right to be there. You have been there shooting in the desert, yes? Awesome amount of open space and areas designated for shooting are remarkably free from wandering idiots! To be honest, it's not really the point - in 90+% of US-origin gun-related photos/videos there is no safe backstop, not even on some formal ranges. Yes it's a big place, but that's no excuse for irresponsible firearms use.
