Original G98

#1 Post by Joe Pugh »

Am looking for a original G98 (Gew 98) in 7.92x57

Would be nice if it is war time dated or before 1918 and back (I like that kind of stuff)

Anyone seen one knocking about in good nic?

I know they have made a anniversary model but id like something with a bit of history.

Thanks

Simon at Highwood Classic Arms has a 1903 dated G98 at the moment that looks pretty good...

Yup, not sure about the 'chromed' bolt reference though!

I have purchased old warhorses from both the above retailers with no issues to report. Your interest in older military bang sticks seems to accord with my own so do let us know how you get on!

The one bns41 posted looks a nice one but it is a very shinny and ye looks almost chromed finished by the pictuee anyway.

Is that because the bluing / finish has worn? Or has is that original?

s'right, they come in the white! Wouldn't mind one myself, would sit nicely alongside my K98k, but sadly I am presently lacking in a number of critical areas...

I suspect the Arundel one ain't chromed as it is described, would be mildly leery if it were
