Wow, last time I looked, VC's were going for around £200,000 each, he has around 193 of them. That collection is worth north of £60 million pounds... Interestingly, I've never seen a blue ribbon VC before, apparently it's for pre-1918 naval personnel.

I wasn't criticising him, I'm amazed anyone would pay so much for a collection and then allow it to be displayed at the IWM. Kudos to Lord Ashcroft.

I don't recall ever seeing this collection at the IWM, was it included as part of the museum refresh? I guess that's my excuse to go again...
