CZ trigger kit

#1 Post by Activ8 »

Hi,
I'm after some advice please if that's ok? As mentioned in my introduction, I've recently purchased a second hand CZ 452 silhouette for a bargain price, had it checked & it's all good. So now I'm happy, I'd like to upgrade it buy adding a new/better trigger kit.
Can you recommend a decent one to go for? I've seen Rimfire Magic are selling a kit for £15 delivered which seems to get a decent review, but thought I'd ask here also.
Now while I'm on & to save starting more threads, can you suggest a decent but cheap bipod? As its a .22lr & has very little recoil if any, are the cheaper Harris copies up to the task or is it a case of buying a saving & buying the better product? I'm also after a decent moderator that's not going to cost the earth & was told to go for a SAK?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

The Rimfire Magic kit is fine, Steve - and it couldn't be easier to fit. As a word of caution, if you install too light a spring, the bolt is apt to come straight out the back of the action when you cycle a fresh round, so if that happens try the next spring up. :good:

I buy cheap and cheerful Chinese bipods off ebay. They are every bit as good as the Harris, and only 1/4 of the price. ;)

Les, that's good to know. I'll order one of eBay today.
As I'm shooting at the club (the same as you by the way wdrpc) mainly, do you think the swivel bipod is needed or would non swivel be fine?

The non-swivel type is fine. I do have a swivel version fitted to one of my rifles, but for bench shooting it's probably more of a hindrance than a help. ;)

When you visit Sealand & Altcar is the fixed bipod still usable or is the swivel a better option? Not been to either yet so not sure of how flat the shooting spots are.

This is not the for sale section, both of you have been here long enough to know the rules so abide by them.

I don't know, Steve - I haven't been there either. Anything that involves lying down to shoot is very difficult for me, so it's strictly bench only.

You can get a decent fixed bipod and a swivel bipod for around £14 - £20 each, so they're cheap enough to buy one of each and then swap from one to the other to see which works best for you. :good:

Cheers Les, may see you in the club, myself & my wife Catherine tend to go on Mondays or the odd Sunday. All the best.

Bought mine from rimfire magic and it arrived the day after ordering it!

I went with the lightest spring, I installed the shims but with the shims fitted it wouldn't engage ( They tell you this on the instructions ) so I just have the lightest spring fitted

for the money it brilliant my trigger is really light and crisp!
