Introduction

#1 Post by DL. »

It's a nice forum you have here guys and girls.

Pull up a sand bag, and I'll introduce myself.

I got my first air rifle when I was nine years old, I was happy plugging away in my teens, and was given an apprenticeship in rifle & shotgun from some old hands.

In 1997 I did a Basic Practical Shotgun Course (DVC!), and have used pistols about half a dozen times - rimfire & fullbore.

I have a healthy addiction to launching lead, though rarely use a shotgun these days, being more dedicated a rifleman.

Every week, I keep sharp with the .22Lr's, and every couple of weeks, I get some time on paper with the Centrefires. In between times, I do pest control and deer management.

A part of my salary gets consumed by the expense of copper, lead, vihtavuori & petrol.

All the best, Danny

Good to see you on the forum Danny, I think Christel aspires to F-B(UK) being a 'nice' forum so no doubt she will be pleased to read this. What centrefires do you shoot?

Thank you both for the welcome.

I use .223Rem 6x51 (I'm too big a bloke to use a .243win!) :D 7-08Rem & .308win.

I must confess, I can't stop tinkering with my rifles/scopes. There's always one set up that I'm planning on "improving".

The Finnfire's going to get it next!

Improving is good! 6x51? I would be interested to hear more on that, I have necked .308 down to 7mm, 6mm and .224 in the past 'Just to see what they looked like'

It's my warped sense of humour Davy! I'm too macho to admit to owning a .243, so I call it a 6x51 or a 6-08! :D It's a Sako Finnwolf though, which makes up for the slightly smaller than desired calibre.
