HMMM What a pity the cops weren't armed in this case, would have been pefectly justifiable. But just look at how people were behind the knife attacker filming it on their phons no doubt??

Looks like Taser has it's limitations when used on people who are wearing padded clothes, you can see why they sometimes aim for the face. Pepper spray might have been a good backup, although the dog might have needed to be kept away.

The first on looks like they are too focused on using taser etc rather than all closing on him at once and taking him to ground. Is exorcism a hammer to be a lot less effective in close than a knife. +1 on dog. Maybe fearing for safety of dog?

All that said. Never been in that situation or trained like them.

How do we know he's not a drug addict who's been given the wrong powder?

However - "Justifiable"..as in well, they would have been justified - the cops in the hammer attack were not in a good place were they?

Counselling for 6 months...WHY?? It's what they are TRAINED to do when they carry a gun is it not?

Maybe it depends on who you see as most important in that equation I suppose. It's not worth being knifed by a junkie or someone who's mentally disurbed either, look at the mess mentally disturbed people have caused in Europe. Funny you say you would pull the trigger on a terroristy trying to kill you - but have different standards for drug addicts??? Strange..

Not sure how others feel about giving the attacker the benefit of the doubt?

Our police are amazing at talking people down, disarming armed assailants, diffusing violent incidents, long may they carry on their hard work!

Shooting people when it gets sticky is a cowardly way out imvho.

And yes I'd still treat a man with a hammer differently to a man with a rifle.

This man with a hammer was runaway "refugee" from Holland-killed old lady there-country of origin Afganistan,if I remember good.But some info is whitewashed already on the web...In any normal country both of them will get shoot straight away in the leg,at least...Softly,softly approach....tell it to the Russians...or Mr.Trump....and wait for "the look"...get the f*****g life SF-out of the bubble pls

In this particular incident an armed response would be quite tricky given the dorks standing around filming the incident.....One chap who WAS trying to divert the attacker from the masses was apparently quite p1ssed at those who came up to him and said they had filmed it.....!
