The 455 is a fine little rifle however I do like the earlier 452 and the original Brno offerings are superb.

There's a great little bolt action rifle being offered on another site. BSA Century for less than £100.

Nothing to do with me but looks like a bargain.

Sort of.....bit like Marathon = Snickers.

The original firm was BRNO, as in the maker of the Bren.
The CZ firm took them over & kept a few of the designs & changed others.

Way better quality from the BRNO offerings than the recent versions....based on 30+ years of ownership (& experience in the gun trade = how about a CZ centre-fire rifle where the bolt was serial numbered to the gun: they'd supplied a left hand bolt with a right hand rifle)

I've never spoken to anyone with a bad thing to say about 452s or BRNOs. I've spoken to one person who curses his 455 having pensioned his 452 off to a family member. I believe there are minor engineering changes (single locking lug on 455?) and the barrel change system on the 455 but largely the same design as has been used for Donkeys years.

I keep meaning to pick up a 452.

No. They are excellent rifles. Very accurate, very simple and basic operation, the trigger is OK out of the box, but it can be improved for around £15. What's not to like! :good: :D
