Dehavilland museum, London Colney
Anyone been there? Worth a look? Comes highly recommended on Tripadvisor, for what that's worth.....................

Passed it many times but never had time to pop in.

Myself and Bnz went a few years ago. We'd often driven past the brown sign on the M25 and finally decided to pay a visit. It was worth the effort. I found the Horsa glider exhibit of particular interest as we had been to Arnhem a few years before.

Well that's kept a low profile - I don't think I've ever heard of it before. I certainly put that on my "to do" list...
I was going to say - does anyone remember the DH Heron that was displayed on the entrance to the old Croydon airport....But I see it's still there, not driven through that way for years.

My son has visited the museum and said he thoroughly enjoyed it, he tells me he is going back again later in the year so he must like something.

Used to go quite often in years past (more like decades past ).....not been for quite a while now, but must make the effort again soon to view the recent restoration of the prototype Mosquito now that its been finished.

Doorstep syndrome. Trouble with local museums is that you can go any time, so you can go next week or the week after and that week never comes. Which reminds me I must go to one of my favourites the Shuttleworth Collection in Bedfordshire since De Havilland is the topic. That place is laid back and you almost have it to yourself if you visit mid week. Oh and the De Havilland Museum.

Never heard of it until now...shame.
