Where can I get a thread protector in M24 x 1.5mm RH thread?

#1 Post by Dark Skies »

I need a thread protector in M24 x 1.5mm RH thread for my Saiga AK74-alike.

K-VAR do an excellent one currently going for under $8 part # AK-040B

Obviously though they won't sell something so dangerous outside of the USA.

I could just chop down my muzzle brake but that's a tad drastic. Also if I want to sell it on the prospective buyer would want it intact.

I could buy a cheap one and chop that down but again, they're all in America so see above.

It's getting silly now. I'd even settle for a pipe insert / pipe joiner.

I looked at buying a tap to make my own out of a bit of pipe but they're around the £25 mark which seems a bit over the top for one job.

Anyone know where I might source one?

M24 x 1.5 is a metric hydraulic fitting size.

I would go down to your local hydraulic center and see if they do a suitable female to female adaptor.

Cheers, I'll explore that avenue.
