I expect you're all wondering why I've asked you here...
I just wanted a post title that wasn't "new member".
Anyway - new member here.
I got into target rifle shooting at school, courtesy of the cadet force, both .22 and .303, then carried on at uni where I was club secretary for a few years.
After uni, I just sort of gave it up, and life, career, family kept me busy enough.
Now retired, and I'm thinking I might take up the sport again, looked for an online community to join, so here I am.
Right now I'm not a member of any club (haven't seriously looked for one yet) - what would have been an obvious choice for me (for smallbore, at least) would have been Ruislip - I live within walking distance, but their range etc has gone, courtesy of HS2, and they're closed to new members. There used to be full-bore shooting in an old quarry in the Harefield/West Hyde area, but that's vanished without trace (can't even find anything on t'internet that proves it ever existed).
I'm "only" 25-30 miles from Bisley, so anything between 45 minutes and 45 hours drive, depending on the M25.
I used to have an FAC, and can think of no good reason why I won't be able to get one again, and I have no live rounds or empty cases in my possession sah!
Actually, the bit about empty cases isn't strictly true...
Regds.,
Mike

Welcome aboard Mike!
No need to worry about the cases, they aren't a controlled item

"....and if you should get home and find one lodged in the turn-ups of your underpants return it to me ASAP and nothing more will be said..." is what our Flt. Sgt. always used to say as we left the range...

I used to go to a school with a cadet force, .22 indoor range and outdoor .303 range situated in Moor Park.
Its not the same one by any chance?
