.303 head space gauges
Anyone got a set of headspace gauges for .303 they will part with or any info on where I could locate a set.
Also interested in a set of 7.62x54r.

Re: .303 head space gauges
If you can't find a set they are easy enough to make, both cartridges headspace on the rim so it makes things a lot simpler.
A set of 54r gauges I made myself, it also includes a Mosin firing pin protusion gauge I made from an old .223 case........

I headspace .303 British in Enfield actions with feeler gauges, the extractor bits need removing to give a clear bolt face.

Re: .303 head space gauges
In the pic below the circled items are a case head with a rim of a known thickness and three pieces of feeler gauge stock, each of a different thickness, that when used together work as a Go/No-Go/Field gauge.
The case head has a magnet in the primer pocket that holds the case head/feeler gauge combo to the bolt face and the case head/rim has a cut out so it can be used without the need to remove the extractor as it is quite easy to snap a Mosin extractor on removal if you aren't careful.
The three disc gauges also have a cut out for the extractor.

Re: .303 head space gauges
I really nice job thanks for the input but I don't think they would work for what I have in mind.

Re: .303 head space gauges
If you are thinking of using such gauges to check for Proof submissions they will fail. You will need CIP gauges manufactured specifically by Triebel or to the Triebel interpretation of the CIP standard.
