NEW FAC application (& Covid!)
I've applied to NYorks, as I've mentioned elsewhere.
I've been sent the Dr's letter request and have sorted that out - I sent it back to them last week.
My question is - is there a particular order in which things happen after it's received?
What happens next? Do they check out your referees? Do they arrange a visit?
And are the visits different now because of Covid?
Any information on what to expect these days would be much appreciated.
Would it speed things up if I were to keep my guns at the club in a safe for the moment, as I'm guessing that would mean they don't need to actually conduct a visit?
Thanks in advance.

Re: NEW FAC application (& Covid!)
In Lincolnshire the Firearms Department will not touch your application until they have the medical in their hands, might be different in other counties.
Last time it took 6 weeks for the medical to be sorted. Could vary.
Then it is a visit from the FEO to make sure you have suitable storage in place.
At some point they will contact your referees.
Had to stop writing as I realised I am not quite awake yet...guns?
I thought this was a new application?

Hi - yes it's a new application. My apologies for being unclear!Christel wrote: Had to stop writing as I realised I am not quite awake yet...guns?

What I mean is - would proposing that I store the firearms I intend to own in the club safe speed things up, as this wouldn't require a home visit?

I would not have thought so as with a new grant the FEO will want to see you.

Also what is really important is that you have a good relationship with your FEO, he is your first point of contact.Christel wrote:I would not have thought so as with a new grant the FEO will want to see you.

BTW, do expect some delay due to C-19, Humberside had at one point a few weeks off, entire office not working.

They've already banned the use of poof on here.
