Re: IDEX Abu Dhabi
Caracal CSR would be my guess.
Re: IDEX Abu Dhabi
It’s not a guess, you’re right. Caracal.
Interesting company who saw the region being armed by a Western manufacturers, so set out to produce domestic weapons that would compete with the best that Europe and the US had to offer. Interesting designs that are conventional, but radical at the same time. Their striker fired, polymer framed service pistol was well received and described as “the most ergonomic”... but drop safety sucked! Several accidents saw major recalls and not sure if their reputation is damaged beyond repair in the US.
But as for the rifles shown.... another folding stock, accessory forend chassis system.... a bit “yawn” now. Funnily enough, like lots of “new” guns. Development is certainly stagnant. And I get that form follows function, but does everything have to be so ugly these days?!!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

More luck than judgement. I remember hearing from a trip to the UAE that their army used Caracal rifles.Sim G wrote:It’s not a guess, you’re right. Caracal.
I actually thought they were Indian for some reason but I just checked and they are UAE based.
