Nitro paper for paper cartridges
I'm trying to find a source of nitrocellulose paper for making paper cartridges.
I recall that I bought some around 6 years ago, I think it was a French website, and they also had a combustible adhesive and a mandrel. I wasn't Siarm.
If anyone knows I'd appreciate a link.
Thanks.

Thanks but the stuff I'm looking was pre-cut to shape for calibre for rolling over the mandrel.Dark Skies wrote:What about this stuff?CDM5 wrote:I'm trying to find a source of nitrocellulose paper for making paper cartridges.

If it was from a French company, I have a fellow English shooter in France. I'll ask him.
As I am novice in black powder (my BP Certification course is in May sometime), can you give some more info about it?
Like dimensions, Nitrocellulose ratio
Anything else it can help to narrow the search?
My fellow shooter in France is a long range shooter like me and I doubt he knows much about black powder.
Also at LCRPC there are black powder shooters and I'll ask them when club re-opens.

Best to make your own as the mandrels from that company are practically useless size wise.
Paper is easy to make by soaking in a saltpetre solution. I just use ordinary onion skin no combustible additives needed

What's involved in buying saltpetre solution these days?dromia wrote:Best to make your own as the mandrels from that company are practically useless size wise.

I know potassium nitrate is on the "report-able substances" list.
Do you have to have a licence or is the purchase simply recorded against the purchasers name?

Easily and cheaply available from sausage making suppliers.
I buy it by the 1/2 stone.
