Dogs? who has what?

#1 Post by M99 »

We have apparently got far too many dog?! - or so people tell us - but with two of us shooting game, 'fowling and flying birds of prey we each have our own dogs.

This is a SMALL selection of some of our dogs (I try not to count them - but it is over 20!)

They are great pictures. I love the look of anticipation on their faces and the last picture is just awesome.

No dogs here at the moment just cats!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Great pictures!

This is the Samoyed cross (You can see why she is called pond life on occasion) An old lady now at nearly 13 years old, she only really understands Danish apart from odd words like walk. she likes water and is in it at any opportunity. I have seen her break through the ice on the Fjord, disappear from view and come back up with the stone I threw for her, she was also the best mouser I have ever known when younger.

This is the Weim from hell, Xmas Weim:

Lazy Weim trying to climb onto a neighbours lap (very poor mobile picture).

He is a far too big for breed at around the 47-48Kg mark right now and would defend Christel to the death, a truly loyal companion to her.

This was my cat. Killer of squirrels and rabbits galore, he used to drag rabbits over the roof and in through a bedroom window, usually in the middle of the night, I always knew it was a problem as he used to 'chirp' as he came in which was guaranteed to get us both sitting up in bed shouting NOOOOOO!!!!! he never did listen to either of us.

We are away too much to have a dog but living on the edge of a golf course we are in an ideal spot. We have talked about it and I would quite like a Rhodesian Ridgeback!

Mike357,

Better make sure you have the stamina and wit to cope with a Ridgeback, they will out think you on the spot if they can get away with it.

Also do not forget they are bred as fighters.

More from the 'pond life' This was a few weeks ago, she was in this like a shot, if it looks like thick black mud that is because for the most it was. The bad part was after I had hauled her out she rolled around on the grass and promptly fell down the bank to the pond again. She had to get in the car afterwards...Ah well, at least being mostly white you can see when she is clean.
