The mention of alloy receivers in a post prompted me to look up a photo of my 12 bore Browning Auto 5 Super light weight shot gun. This popped up on a dealer's web site for £200. It looked in really nice condition, so I went to have a look at it. It is a 1971 made gun and is in very nice condition. The action and trigger guard are made of aluminium alloy. I have taken it clay shooting and it cycles 1 ounce loads fine. It is nice to shoot. I also have a steel action Light Twelve Auto 5. The super light weight weighs a pound less than the steel action gun. I saw a 20 bore version of the super light weight at the Northern Shooting Show but the dealer wanted more than twice what I paid for mine, so I let it go. A few pics.
Peter.

For a 50yo that looks to be in excellent condition.
