Norma 38s&w rims knurled
I've been given some Norma 38s&w but noticed something weird, all the rims are knurled. Did the cases come like this, or has it been since by someone for a reason?

Is that some one else's hand loads you are using or are they factory. Not a good idea to use some one else,s hand loads. Not some thing I would do.

I have no idea, I'll be pulling some and seeing, hence my question on the brass, as if Norma had never been knurled it will definitely be home loads and so all need pulling
Is there a reason why someone might want to mark norma cases from others? I know in my m1carb, Norma brass feels tighter than almost all other makes and so needs lubing when full length sizing

I've seen this before but never so evident as this. I always assumed that it was something that happened in the manufacturing process and was the result of machinery being out of adjustment rather than something that was intentionally done. The knurling on the cases that I had were unaffected by it other than if I remember correctly being a slightly tighter fit in the shell holder.

Do not use them, Stuart! Knurled rims denote proof rounds loaded for arms manufacturers by ammo companies.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Looking at your photo I see that there are two bullet styles, yes? It may be that someone has got hold of the brass and reloaded it. Either way, pull them.

Err on the side of caution and pull all of them.
