New MOD Range Charges
The new, increased, MOD range charges imposed from July 1.
The new "weekend & holiday" TAO holurly charge of £77.24/hour irrespective of the TAOs rota is a massive increase to the cost of a range day for small clubs. Can envisage some clubs falling by the wayside.
No mid week bookings for Civilian clubs are permiited on the catterick range complex so don't have any options other than a Saturday /Sunday.

Re: New MOD Range Charges
We got our July invoce last week, for a 2hr shoot using 2 lanes (shoot called off due to horrendous weather!) it came to £205.66
We have Otterburn ETR range on Thursday, I'd estimate it to be just under £425 for 6 Sarts and 3-1/2 hours
Ponteland for 6 lanes would be £528 as we pay our sentries and butts supervisor.

Re: New MOD Range Charges
I do wish we could edit for longer
So, what I added to the above was,
I emailed our NRA rep (Guy Trembath) when I got the invoice, he confirmed it's correct and is a national policy.
When we got the fees update email in March we assumed the daily rate had increased as it usually does (about £6/Hr) but that we'd be invoiced at the reduced rate for bookings under 4hrs as we've always been. This is no longer the case and it has almost doubled our shoot costs.

Re: New MOD Range Charges
how many people can shoot at that 2hr, 2 lane booking?
When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns

Re: New MOD Range Charges
Rules say 1 shooter 1 lane. Range bookings are a minimum of 2 lanes. So 2 shooters on a detail. Depends on how long is a details. Go from there.

Re: New MOD Range Charges
We shoot Sunday mornings. Previously if the TAO was 5/7 & on core time rate & the military were shooting we were charged 2 hrs TAO time at the reduced rate. That rate was about half of the new "weekend & holiday" rate of 77.24 (that's including the dreaded VAT of course). The new, fixed, rate has almost doubled the total cost of a Sunday morning Shoot.
I confirmed our July invoice with landmarc. Now quite relieved our second range day in July was "windied off" by landmarc & they have not charged for the cancellation.

Re: New MOD Range Charges
We had a "mini" committee meeting last night (we were all at the same indoor club!), based on the new charge rate we'll have to increase next years annual subs to about £125 to cover the number of shoots we usually run over the year.
Our booking ended up with only 2 lanes as everyone (even the military) went home due to the weather.
