Lee Enfield Sporters

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

A while ago I saw a stunning Lee Enfield .303 Sporter for sale and sadly never bothered to follow it up, it was cased and included the original cleaning kit, some old targets and even some original boxes of ammunition. It was POA so probably a small fortune.

Does anyone here own/shoot such a rifle? I have always wondered how they handled and shot and would be interested to hear about them.

I believe Dromia uses one. Think I've seen it in his arsenal.

There's a lot of them up for grabs in Holts next sealed bid auction.
I don't fancy one myself.

I'm sure I've seen a relativily modern conversion on the forum before...or do you mean ones like this...

I was tempted by a Lee Metford sporter (£250), with a mind to restore it, but it seems the woodwork is very hard to source - so that was the end of that idea.
