A friend is cleaning out his late fathers possessions and has found what looks like a BAS Light Pattern air rifle from 1919 (based on serial number and google image search)
Is this something that there would be a market for, and if so where would they be best trying to sell it?
Both have general sections for enquiring about value etc with separate sections for actual sales adverts so do make sure they read the rules of the respective site before making an ad (the mods can be quite zealous about this on the forums mentioned as a lot of people genuinely take the pee). Failing that there are some vintage shows/fairs where this would sell but as to location/dates etc again you'd be best asking on the forums as rifles of this age isn't my speciality.
That's an early Light series. They date from 1919 - 1936. I have a couple from the 1920's. Your rifle is in not particularly good condition but looks complete - I would guess it would sell around the £120-180 mark. They usually seem to fetch a fair price, often way above their estimates, at local online household goods/collectable auctions as many collectors get notifications when they are coming up for sale. https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/sear ... fle&page=4
