A long butt is about 3/4'' longer than a standard butt (have one on my No4). Give Fultons of Bisley a ring ,I am sure they will be able to help you out. If the required butt is for your No4T and you are trying to get 'comfortable' try to get an Envoy butt (they only came in one length) and fit spacers and a butt pad to suit. The Envoy butt has a higher combe than the correct butt fitted with the sniper cheekpiece.

I have been ringing around this morning including Fultons and nobody has anything in stock, I will call them again and see if they have an envoy butt as an laternative.

Many thanks for the tip.

hi
EFD Enfield Specialists have No8 butts for sale at £45. They are the same as envoy butts, just need to add a butt pad. Alternativelt give Bob Burbage of Arundal Classic guns a ring on 01903 776121 as he may have No4 long butts. All No4 and No8 butts are the same fit in the butt socket. No1 butts (SMLE) are a slightly different fit and may need adjusting with a sharp chisel to fit. ( I do have the correct armourers tool, a long screwdriver and bush that fits into a carpenters brace to remove and refit enfield butts, at Bisley).

Just spoke to Bob, a very pleasant chap to speak to, he is going to have a look and I am going to mail him a picture of my rifle for a vague colour match.

I did not realise H&H replaced the wood on 4T's when they were building them.

Bob is indeed a very nice gent. I have known him for 20 odd years and have shot service pistol against him. If one is ever looking for SMLEs, No4s or Classic rifles, Bob will always be my first choice of dealer. He has better rifles at better prices than most other dealers. A top man.
