Any doubts about the existence of mass graves at the Treblinka death camp in Poland are being laid to rest by the first survey of the site using tools that see below the ground, writes forensic archaeologist Caroline Sturdy Colls.

Caroline’s research will be explored further in a forthcoming BBC Radio 4 documentary, The Hidden Graves of the Holocaust on Monday 23 January at 8pm.

Thought provoking and important document, we must never forget what happened, if only to prevent it from happening again.

I do not like that Patrick Gordon Walker wrote
PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL

NOT FOR PUBLICATION IN ANY FORM

PERSONAL NOTES BY P. GORDON WALKER
And yet his family has agreed to publish his notes. On the other hand they are important notes for the future generations after him to read.

Can't have been easy, his wishes on one side and the ability to inform people by publishing the notes on the other.

He possibly, did not wish publication because it was his own feelings, thoughts and experiences.

He went on to write a book called, The Lid Lifts: An Account of the Author’s Experiences During Two Visits to Occupied Germany in the Spring of 1945.

Just that his family ignored that which I find, well you know, a little bit like a grave robber, same feeling.
