Sniping in France 1914-18
"SNIPING IN FRANCE 1914-18
With notes on the scientific training of scouts, observers, and snipers"
By Major Hesketh Hesketh-Pritchard DSO,MC
Brought a copy of this - a reprint from Amazon as the original copies are as rare as hens teeth. What a cracking read. All about the history of British sniping and the reluctance to adopt such measures as "its not very sporting!" How things change.

Yes, it's a cracking read - even used to be on the syllabus at Sennybridge

Most of it is readable on the Google Books preview. I read what they have online a while ago and it's very interesting.

Fascinating read. Not quite as much on the training side as I might have hoped for but a good collection of yarns about developing sniping training from scratch during WW1.
