Ishapore 2A series
The Ishapore 2A and 2A1 series are pretty popular here in the U.S. Many have been imported in the last 15 years or so. All have nice bores but frequently the wood is pretty beat up and sometimes the magazines have feeding issues. There is a lot of discussion if the receivers were really made with a higher grade of steel alloy or if they are just the same Ishapore steel as a #1 Ishapore rifle and are not showing problems because they weren't shot much. It seems strange that India surplused the 2A/1 rifles but kept the myriad of #1mk3's in service. Are they seen and used in the U.K.? Mine is a pretty good shooter, with good military ball and younger eyes than mine it will shoot a 2" 5 rd group from a bench rest. I discovered that both the magazine and 7.62 extractor will work with minor modifications in a #4 7.62 rifle; at least those items as sold by Gun Parts Corporation.

That is in very good condition, and a very nice lookin' girl there, as you say, most are very beat up.
There are a few here, yup, I've used one. Nice rifle, but it felt odd sticking a 7.62x51mm into an "Enfield"... should be .303!!
