What would happen now?

Idling away a momemnt I saw the post about Wednesbury Markesmen.

I grew up a few miles from Wednesbury.

Years ago I took my wife to the Villa ground where her beloved Plymouth Argyle were playing in a semi-final.

I contacted Wednesbury Marksmen and arranged a visit. (some of you will be aware what I think of soccer) Having to park the Astra van some way from the ground, I agreed to walk her to the gate where she was meeting someone. The van not being secure, I carried, in a Quantas flight bag, my Browning 9mm and my S&W model 14 along with about a hundred rounds for each. I also had with me my FAC which was, in those days, unusual.

As we neared the ground I saw that bags were being searched so I approached a police Sergeant and said that I had this little problem. I explained what I have described to you above and he said, 'Oh, I've shot there, I'll walk you to the gate and back, giz a look at the guns"

He escorted me back to the van and I had a great couple of hours in the range.

My wife's bag was searched at the gate and her bottle of coke was confiscated!
