AR-15 buttstock, what you got?

#1 Post by majordisorder »

I've just ordered a TAC 21 Chassis for my Remington 700 project gun and am now looking for an AR buttstock + buffer assembly to go with it.

No idea as to which stock to go for, so what have you got sat in a cupboard that I might like?

I dont think you need the buffer assembly, maybe just the tube.

...and you'll need an AR grip I think

Met the chap that designed the TAC21 at the Newark show - interesting bloke

Seems like a very good design - hope it works out well for you

Go Magpul!

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

I also found this, a standard A2 which looks pretty good and balanced on the chassis. So if anyone's got one of these or something similar sat around gathering dust let me know.

I've just got a bog standard TDI 6 position collaspable on my 9mm. Its the most solid folding stock i've ever touched :good: Not sure i'd have it on a Rem 700 though. Probably agree with the others and get a properly adjustable Magpul

I agree with 20 Series, I think many like the PRS because you can change the length and cheek hight. For me the AR stocks always come up short, so that would be an attractive feature.
Despite the cost of some of these bits of kit I am always disappointed with the final product. I saw one in laminate the other day, can't remember where now - that would be a nice change.

If you fancy having some fun bits, check out http://www.dealextreme.com/ for some cheap copies - they even have a range of Magpul kit!

At time of writing the description side of the site appears to be down, but site normally works OK,

Found that laminate stock - I think it could look good, scroll down
