Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

Highwood Classic Arms

Simon Pemberton is a generally fine fellow, bit of a whizz on Enfields and proprietor of Highwood Classic Arms:

http://www.highwoodclassicarms.co.uk/index.htm

Those who frequent Herts & Essex or HBSA will have come across Simon on his travels.

I'm sure I've bought from Simon in the past, I've certainly sold through him.

I like the way he uses the internet to full advantage with a good website which is neither overcomplimacated nor looking like something knocked up on a commodore spectrum and DOS 30 years ago. I'm not involved with historics and military training rifles any longer but a good website is as good for sellers as it is for buyers. Until quite recently details of rifles already sold stayed on the website but I see that's now changed which I find a pity but he knows his business.

Simon is a real enthusiast and isn't alone in this field in not having shop premises to maintain, run and keep open 6 days a week. He's certainly not one of the overambitious types when it comes to prices.

Interesting - I'd been thinking of getting someone to give my No. 4 a once-over, looks like this might be a chap worth speaking to.

I'd say so. No doubt. I trust him to sell my rifles and in so doing I get a completely honest and accurate picture of the rifle's condition. Dare I apply a pun and say he's a Star of the No4 Mk1 variety or is that too cheesy?

Morning peeps,

Visited Simon last week and came away with a rather nice No4 complete with PH5C and tunnel fore sight.
Excellent bloke, very straight to deal with ( unlike some other folks that I have had dealings with **** )
And as a bonus, the bang stick even seems to make holes in places where its pointed !

Simon is very knowledgable about all things 'Enfield' in particular and a straight up guy to deal with.

I've purchased 2 rifles from him now and can recommend him for sensible pricing and good advice. thankssign
