There doesn't seem to have been much talk about the Imperial, and it the final of the Queens this weekend...!!?

Has anyone competed so far, and did anyone shoot the first round of the Queens?

I shot some of the competitions in the Imperial,

I lost my Tyro class in this being my first Imperial being in the prize lists for the Lovell (1000 yards) Duke of Cambridge (900 yards) and the Daily Mail (500 yards).

I got absolutely soaked on the firing point for the Lovell and after the delay and one further sighter I ended on 46.3.

My scores for the Duke of Cambridge was 48.4 and for the Daily Mail was 72.10.

I also shot Queen's 1 and didn't do that well, I shot 32.2, 32.2, and 32.3 at 300, 500 and 600 respectively.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will be doing the whole meeting next year.

I did the full Grand Agg.

Once aclimatised to the swamp conditions it was good fun. The top boys, and girls, made wind reading look easy whilst many struggled to catch wind changes and a 300 yd target is not forgiving!

I got a 50 with 4 Vs at 900yds only to lose 5 points because my trigger failed the weight test. A warning to check your kit before a comp sign01

My Queens 1 scores were 33.3, 33.5, 31.3 at 3,5,and 600 yds respectively, a total of 97.11. The cut off for going on to Stage 2 was a score of 101.13.

The St Georges 1 cut off score for stage 2 was 73.9v's. My score was 73.8 - if only I had tried that bit harder!

The weather left a bit to be desired but we cannot blame the ammo. Top stuff, but at the price so it should be. Now back home doing a final dry out and kit cleaning inpreparation for next year - if we can afford it :o

If you are interested in a day to day report have a look on the NRA (UK) website, under Imperial reports.

Did the Grand Agg and pre-grand matches. Managed to come 35th in the Grand. Won the Foster (concurrent with Georges1). Shot for England in the National - We Won! Shot for England in the Mackinon - We Won! Have had my best meeting for several years.
Made it through to Georges final but bombed out of Queens 2.

now off to watch the Queens Final.

I looked at the results and was flabbergasted by the amount of competitions. I dont understand it all.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Mike357,
I was bewildered at first.
Simply, there are 5 pre grand shoots using issued ammo to get your sight settings for The Grand.
The Grand Aggregate is 13 comps over 3, 5, 6, 9 & 1000 yards. The other comps listed are aggregates of scores achieved in the 13 Grand Shoots. You chose what to enter. You may be able to still download an entry form from the NRA site. This will explain all!
There are some others on here who may wish to explain further but hope that is it simply.

Good, I'm glad there were some forum members competing - and that the weather has turned out well for the final days

I've been keeping up with the 'T Rex' report on the NRA site - the scores are quite astounding!

John and Martin - I'd have been well pleased with those scores...especially with the conditions in the week

Steve - I don't think many non-TR shooters will realise the level of shooting it takes to come 35th in the Grand - very well shot sir!

Duff - I really wanted to come to the Historic meet this year but couldn't make it...hopefully see you at the Trafalgar again :good:

A few shots from the final below.

Very well done to Steve E for selection to the England 'National' team, and especially for 'Mackinnon' selection - awesome!

Very well done to GazMorris on winning both Queen's I and Queen's II outright!, and thereby changing your name to GazMorris(SM).

And of course, well done to John Warburton; a very worthy winner.
