Leaving all the other issues aside and our opinions, this is not a bad article! Remember it is aimed at those that know nothing other than tabloid hysteria!

BBC Olympic Shooting promotion.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Re: BBC Olympic Shooting promotion.
I'm quite amused that the NSRA, who are after all the governing body for most of the Olympic disciplines in the UK, didn't get a single mention.

You might be amused but I find it a disgrace. I have to say that the NSRA appear to have brought it upon themselves but I'll reserve judgement until after my first attendance at their AGM and my first General Council meeting on Saturday.

Speaks volumes for the lack of clout and how our "National" bodies are viewed by government and their instruments.

It's all in the PR strategy. And at the moment, shooting as a whole doesn't have one. Hence we shouldn't be surprised that the mainstream media know buggerall about us. Only BASC are approaching anything half decent on the PR front, and they're heavily slanted towards the wellies/tweeds/thousands of acres of Scotland mob.
Re: BBC Olympic Shooting promotion.
Revisiting this, with the (soon to be no longer) day job hat on... Why does the NRA and the NSRA shy away from publicity? Why aren't they actively pushing good news stories or awareness-building stories at local and national outlets?
I know there's a very real reason why most shooters are happy to skulk in the shadows, but come on - despite everything, our sport is still legal and enjoyed by hundreds of thousands up and down the country. Less of this hiding away from public view and more getting ourselves into the public eye and actively promoting what we do and how we do it. Else, when it comes to things like the above article, ignorance and inaccuracy will rein supreme.
