For those who want to shoot prone supported, two sand bags stacked up to two high can be used upon which the forearm of the firearm can be laid upon. No back rest or bags are allowed to be used to support the buttstock at any firing position. Shooters may use a slip-on type recoil pad on the buttstock or the shoulder for those who are sensitive to recoil.
Targets to be Used:
The targets at the 300, 400 and 500 yard line are 47 ½” wide by 30’ high (square), 1/2” steel which approximately simulates the NRA High Power MR-1 Target - "Target, Rifle, Competition Mid-Range" 10 to 6 ring in (48”) width and 10 to 8 ½” ring in (30”) height.
The target at 600 yard line is 47 ½” wide by 36” high (square), 1/2” steel which approximately simulates the NRA High Power MR-1 Target - "Target, Rifle, Competition Mid-Range" 10 to 6 ring in (48”) width and 10 to 7 ring in (36”) height.
Note: All targets will be painted solid black.
The NRA defines ‘Short-Range’ as ranges from 100 to 300 yards; ‘Mid-Range’ as ranges from 400 to 700 yards and ‘Long-Range’ as ranges from 800 to 1,000 yards.
Scoring / Rounds per Course of Fire:
10 rounds will be fired at every stage (300, 400, 500 and 600 yards) in which up to 3 sighting rounds will be allowed to be fired at the shooters discretion at the 300 yard target only during the course of fire, these rounds will not be scored.
A direct hit on the target scored one point, a miss scored a zero.
All scores will be confirmed by the use of a spotter.
Note:
Up to three shooters at time will be firing at the concrete slab in front of the 500 meter firing line, in which each shooter will be firing one round at a time until all three shooters finish shooting the 10 rounds at each distance. Once the first set of shooters has completed the set distance, then the next three shooters will then complete the same course of fire at that distance and so on till the whole course of fire has been completed in its entirety.
Firearms to be used:
The firearms that can be used in this match must be all unmodified, originally configured service military rifles that were or still are being issued in the world’s standing armies that were issued to the ‘ordinary soldier’.
The sights on the firearms must be as-issued ‘iron sights’ that were standard to the firearms being used which does not include in any aftermarket, target, match adjustable or micrometer sights as these were not issued to the ordinary soldier.
Scoped military ‘Sniper’ rifles that are to be used in this match must be military used, period, as-issued mounts and optics or cloned copies of the original type mounts or optics, once again no aftermarket type mounts or optics are allowed.
Set Up for the match is to take place at 0830 hours, we will meet at the 500 meter firing line for a safety brief, afterwards head down to the range office to sign in, pay range fees and return back to the firing line to commence firing the match.
If anyone has any questions they can PM or email me.
Thank
Patrick
