How long did it take for the grin to subside :) ?

You'll have to come along and have a go at ours sometime (being in Cambs, your not a million miles from Norman Cross). Ours is slightly different to the Bisley machine in that we have 10 targets but it only makes it more fun.

A variety, mostly bolt action with heavy / long barrels.

Saw a few Martini Henry type too.

And BIG scopes.

Probably because its a shooting match with .22s at 50m against a paper target and not sniping ie......... A sniper is a marksman or qualified specialist who operates alone, in a pair, or with a sniper team to maintain close visual contact with the enemy and engage targets from concealed positions or distances exceeding the detection capabilities of enemy personnel.
